Theories and Techniques on Instant Film

Last month my good friend Michael Ash Smith and I experienced the culmination of a years worth of thought, planning and hard work when we held our very first Theories and Techniques on Instant Film workshop.

We had carefully crafted a unique and hands on curriculum to teach and inspire our attendees about the magic of instant film.

To our great joy and satisfaction, it was a huge success!

With the help of our amazing sponsors we were able to provide an all encompassing instant film experience.

The Impossible Project, State Film Lab and Trillo and Son Leather Co generously provided film, post processing, camera straps and of course word of mouth.

Their sponsorship ensured that everyone not only had a variety of films to shoot but also were able to go home with some really great swag bags!

Mike and I brought all of our knowledge, experience, cameras, accessories and supplies and literally poured out as much information as we could possibly think of.

We had a beautiful model who worked with us as we created some absolutely stunning imagery together.

The end result was an entire day of learning, laughing, shooting, creating, bleaching, scanning, discussion and inspiration in an intimate and educational setting.

Since our beta workshop on 03.29.15, we have had time to reflect on our experience and evaluate the pros and cons of hosting a workshop.

I am happy to announce that after much consideration, Mike and I are preparing more engagements in new cities very soon.

The next of which will be held in Minneapolis, MN on 09.22.15.  If you are interested in joining us for this T&T Instant Film workshop please visit the link and sign up!

Further more, I will keep everyone posted on future Theories and Techniques on Instant Film workshops and if you’d like to attend, please let me know and tell me where you’re at so we can plan accordingly.
